Black Kite is a Bird Shinma that's sole purpose is to destroy Miyu with the purpose being that if the guardian of Earth were to be destroyed, it would allow other Shinma to pass onto Earth unopposed - with an open path to inflict misery on the humans while in the form of a man. The Bird Shinmas' first attempt at this was over fifty years ago, which resulted in the death of the father of Reiha. Miyu managed to avenge Reiha's father by returning Black Kite to "The Darkness."
Black Kite was also the one who killed Miyu's father and mother in the TV Series.
